Introduction:
This video was in response to the handling of the Albany movement in Georgia. African Americans in that city were seeking Civil Rights, particularly looking for full integration of all public facilities. Kennedy in the short clip above responded to the city of Albany's refusal to meet with leaders of the movement. JFK makes a comparison to talks going on with the Soviet Union and says citizens of the US should be able to meet with leaders. Kennedy was knocked for some of his handling of Civil Rights but in this clip he shows a compassion towards the movement.
